Testing Any Motherboard (Trouble Shooting 101)

This is how i test and troubleshoot motherboards. usually they tend to start without booting and displaying or wrong boot orders in the bios. The first thing I do is check that the board is working 100% is by removing the rams and powering on the board with just the power alone and listen to the sounds the board makes. this is usually accompanied by 3 beeping sounds if the board is operational.

Other options are testing the processor for heating. if it get hot quickly you may have a working board.
The motherboard is was busy with today had a small short circuit at the front panel of the HD audio jack. The problems started when the owner placed a jumper at the wrong place. The motherbroad could not  start but is powered on without any problems. any comments are welcome below..
